Breed Seminar & Assessment 7th March 2010 – Stotfold, Herts

The Miniature Dachshund Club and Eastern Counties Dachshund Association will be holding a Breed Seminar and Assessment event on Sunday 7th March 2010.

The Seminar is an ideal opportunity to learn about Dachshunds, whatever your current knowledge and experience. There will be a guest speaker talking about the revised Breed Standard, conformation and movement and how to judge a Dachshund. Judging responsibilities with regard to health and welfare will also be covered. Everyone will have the chance to go over a selection of dogs, with guidance from experienced breeders and Championship Show judges, in a practical “hands-on” session. The Breed Council’s written assessment paper can also be taken by anyone who wishes to.

For those who meet the Breed Council’s criteria (*), there will be an opportunity to be assessed and, if successful, have your name put forward for the A2 Judging List when you have completed 3 successful assessments and meet all other relevant criteria. Only 5 assessment places are available and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

The venue is The Roecroft Centre, Stotfold, near Baldock, Herts. (SG5 4NE) This is easy to find, just off the A1 and is a venue already used for dog club events.

A buffet lunch is included in the ticket price of £12 (£15 for those who wish to be assessed), together with morning coffee and afternoon tea. Comprehensive handouts on the Breed Standard will also be provided.

The Seminar starts at 10:00, with refreshments being served from 09:30.

Numbers are strictly limited, so if you would like to attend, please complete the Booking Form and send a cheque, payable to Eastern Counties Dachshund Association. (Confirmation of your booking and directions to the venue will be posted or e-mailed).
